Kyle Richards’ personal life has been under scrutiny for years, particularly following her separation from husband Mauricio Umansky in 2023. Recently, her sexuality has also become a topic of interest after she was often seen with country singer Morgan Wade.
“I have never, ever questioned my sexuality in my life, ever,” Kyle shared during the premiere of RHOBH’s 14th season. “But all the speculation made me think twice.”
While her sexuality is a private matter, Kyle chose to address the rumors, sharing how she talked about it with her children.
The buzz began after Kyle portrayed Morgan’s love interest in the “Fall in Love With Me” music video. During the season 13 reunion, Kyle clarified she was not romantically involved with Morgan. “I love her and she’s my friend,” she stated.
Kyle expressed surprise at the music video’s direction. “I didn’t know the creative until I got there,” she explained. “I told the director, ‘I’ve never kissed anyone on-camera, let alone a woman.’ I was nervous but curious.”
Admitting she accepted the role for a reason, Kyle said, “She’s hot. What can I say?”
“I’m evolving, I’m changing,” she continued. “I don’t know what the future holds.”
Kyle acknowledged only questioning her sexuality due to public speculation. “It felt good to be honest, something I hadn’t questioned until recent years,” she told E! News. “It was confusing, and I needed time to figure things out.”
She discussed the matter with her daughters-Farrah, 36, Alexia, 28, Sophia, 24, and Portia, 16. “I wanted them to know what I was facing,” she explained. “Public scrutiny made me see things differently.”
During the premiere, Kyle became emotional recounting the conversation. “I didn’t want them to be embarrassed or angry with me,” she shared. But Portia reassured her, saying, “There’s nothing you could ever say that would make us love you less.” Kyle called it her “most proud moment as a mom.”
Despite rumors, Kyle confirmed she isn’t dating Morgan, who echoed the sentiment. “I can only speak for myself,” Kyle told Us Weekly. “I’m not here to speak for anyone else, especially someone not involved in the show.”
Moving forward, Kyle intends not to discuss her friendship with Morgan on RHOBH. “I focus on my personal journey, not addressing her, because it’s not fair,” she concluded.
